🕵🏻‍♀️ Excerpt from Whispers in the Winter Frost 🕵🏻‍♀️:

Today, I planned to transform this sanctuary for the Winter Festival. Climbing the ladder, I reached for the ‘Happy New Year’ banner, but a sudden chill crept down my spine, an all-too-familiar frosty touch that spoke of unseen presences.

Heart pounding, I scanned the room, every shadow and corner. My shop, a cozy haven of ancient books and arcane artifacts, seemed unchanged, yet the air felt charged as if a whisper from the other world lingered just beyond my perception. I eyed the evergreen garlands and the small tree on the cashier's counter, remnants of a Christmas celebrated with my own blend of tradition and witchcraft.

The bell above the door jangled, snapping me back to reality. I spun around, losing my footing on the ladder. A scream escaped my lips as I braced for the fall.

Strong arms caught me, steadying me before I could hit the ground. I found myself looking into the concerned eyes of Detective Liam Ashford. His presence, unexpected yet oddly reassuring, sent a wave of heat to my cheeks.

"Are you alright, Harper?" His voice was laced with genuine concern.

"Yes, thank you, Detective." I managed to steady my voice, though my heart still raced–whether from the fall or his proximity, I couldn't tell. He removed his knitted hat, revealing the perfectly tousled hair that somehow added to his magazine-worthy appearance. "I noticed the lights on. Thought I'd check in." I nodded, feeling a mix of gratitude and embarrassment. "I'm redecorating for the festival. Should've locked the door, though."

"Speaking of which, be extra careful these mornings," he said, his tone shifting to professional concern. "We've had reports of wolves in town. And if you notice any strange people lurking around, let me know."

Wolves? In Moonhaven? The news sent another shiver through me, though this time, it wasn't from any spectral chill. "I haven't seen anything amiss. But something does feel off."

Liam raised an eyebrow, his usual skepticism surfacing. "You mean beyond wildlife concerns?"

"It's hard to explain. It's like a... frost in the air," I said, careful not to mention the spectral presence I had sensed. "A feeling that something is about to happen."

His smile was a blend of amusement and disbelief. "Mystical energy, Harper?"

"Maybe," I replied a little defensively. "There's more to this world than what we see. Sometimes, you have to trust your instincts."

He pondered my words for a moment, then nodded. "Just stay safe. And call if anything unusual comes up." As he headed for the door, the sense of an unseen presence faded, leaving me alone with my thoughts and a store in need of decoration. But Liam's visit had stirred something within me–a realization that my connection to Moonhaven ran deeper than mere chance. I resumed my task, my mind buzzing with questions and the frosty touch of the unknown still lingering at the edge of my awareness.

What readers are saying:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Author Daisy Landish has done it again. This is the first book in a very promising Mystic Moonhaven series. The main character Harper Nightshade owns an occult bookstore in Moonhaven and she is a witch but keeps it very hidden. But she has been getting a funny feeling something is going to happen. When Detective Liam Ashford comes into her store to tell her David Blackwood is mysteriously missing. Harper decides she will help find out what happened to Blackwood. No one knows she is a witch, but while investigating, she find a number of other paranormal characters, in her search. Things are strange and the fact that she knows things and cant divulge them makes it crazier. I Love this first book and can't wait for more." - Reviewer

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Harper Nightshade has moved to Moonhaven, and has an occult bookshop there. The local historian David Blackwood disappears, and her friends tell her of a centuries old legend, where there were a lot of disappearances. Is history going to repeat itself in Moonhaven? I very much enjoyed this paranormal mystery novella and had to read it in one sitting - I could not put it down. I look forward to reading the rest of the series." - Reviewer
